France & Italy

The selections below, both France and Italy, are commonly referred to as “Old World Wines”. All represent classic profiles of the places the grapes were grown and how the wine was made. Many are made by families that have owned their vineyards for a hundred or more years. Most are “natural” as they typically don’t use pesticides, chemical fertilizers or added sulfites. Yeast strains occur on the grape skins rather than added during fermentation. Some are oaked, some not, but when used, the oak flavors are refined and don’t dominate the wine. Many are recognized as the finest wines made, especially true when paired with food. So many delicious offerings! Please ask your server or sommelier for pairings or questions. Most will benefit from decanting. Additional selections can be found in our “Remarkable Wine” sections.
